The Green April campaign was established in the national calendar due to World Health Day, celebrated on April 7, and the International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Occupational Accidents and Diseases (28). Its goal is to raise awareness among workers about the importance of care in the workplace and accident prevention.

At Reafrio, the Internal Commission for Accident Prevention (CIPA) promoted an initiative aimed at highlighting accidents and illnesses that may occur due to the improper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The action used signs placed on chairs, with messages emphasizing the possible consequences of not using safety equipment.

Among the examples presented was the failure to use a welding mask during welding, which can cause serious damage, such as loss of vision. According to occupational safety technician Priscila Simon, this type of situation can occur even due to a false sense of safety.

“Many times, because it is a quick task, employees may end up not using the equipment properly. Or there is no time for adaptation, and in the future, they may suffer the consequences,” she explains.

The initiative also addressed the importance of using hearing protection, safety glasses, and protective gloves. The goal was to highlight, in a visual and direct way, the risks involved and the need for daily prevention.

Reafrio reinforces its commitment to the health and safety of its employees, emphasizing the importance of the correct use of PPE and the adoption of safe practices in the workplace.
