Since 2016, Reafrio has held the ISO 9001 certification seal, reinforcing its commitment to developing solutions with high standards of quality, consistency, and reliability.

To ensure these standards are maintained, the company has a team of internal auditors whose mission is to evaluate processes and identify opportunities for improvement within the organization.

New internal auditors join the team

Last Thursday (12) and Friday (13), another edition of the Internal Auditor Training for the Quality Management System was held. The team of auditors, which initially consisted of just one person, later increased to three and has now reached nine auditors.

The training is conducted only once and repeated only when updates are made to the ISO 9001 standard.

Reafrio’s Quality Manager, Carla Juciane Pavi Egewarth, explains that the internal auditor training, based on the requirements of ISO 9001, was an important moment for learning and exchanging experiences.

“Always reinforcing the importance of internal auditing as a tool to evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities, and strengthen the culture of quality within the company.”

The expansion of the internal audit team became necessary due to growing internal demands and the need to strengthen process control.

“Reinforcing important knowledge for process evaluation and continuous improvement. Investing in training strengthens quality, process efficiency, and the trust of our customers,” she emphasizes.

The process of becoming an internal auditor

Serving as an internal auditor for ISO 9001 is a role of great responsibility. Therefore, the selection process is not carried out lightly. Carla explains that the new auditors were invited after being nominated by their managers.

“In the internal auditor training of the quality management system, auditors are chosen by nomination. Managers select people who are qualified and have the profile to act as internal auditors.”

To participate in the training, some prerequisites are considered, since the internal auditor plays a fundamental role in maintaining the certification. These professionals are responsible for conducting two of the three annual audits that maintain the ISO 9001 certification. The third audit is always conducted by an external auditor.

“To take part in the training, the employee needs to have strong knowledge of our internal processes and prior familiarity with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. They must be impartial, ethical, and understand confidentiality terms,” Carla explains.

In addition to auditing, the employee gains a broad view of the company’s processes. Therefore, it is essential that this person is trustworthy and handles information responsibly and carefully, keeping it restricted to the audit team.

“We continue to evolve and always seek more efficient and reliable processes,” Carla concludes.
